Fear #InspiringNuggets with Imani-Cerrayah

Psalm 34:4–5

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.””

The Oxford dictionary defines fear as an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. Spiritually to fear is the absolute polar opposite of faith. Where there is fear there is no faith and where there is no faith it is impossible to please God.

The reason why many people do not realize their dreams, goals or aspirations is because of fear of the unknown. How can you know whether you will succeed or not if you don’t try? The Bible tells us God only needs faith of a mustard seed and that it will grow from there. What are you afraid of? Some have given up the chance of getting to their predestined positions because of listening to naysayers, discouragers and listening to the carnal inner man. Are you happy that you let go of your dream? What is life if it is life unlived and potential unexplored to its fullest? What’s limiting you? You are never too old to follow your dream. The most unfulfilling and saddest thing ever is to lie on your deathbed full of regret because of opportunities you did not take.

Have you ever asked yourself why you are so fearful? As I alluded to in the first paragraph fear is not from God. So who are you serving when you fear? Constantly living in the pit of fear, despite and doubt is equal to actually worshiping the evil one. Look at it from this point of view, God knew you before the thought of you came about, before your parents even met and before you were placed in your mother’s womb. How can that same God delight when you have doubt that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all your imaginations for you? Psalm 27:1

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Start. An album was written first before it was recorded, a song was recorded and then marketed before artists you know became household names. A multimillion dollar technology project probably started with one or two computers, a dream and a vision. If Strive Masiwa had feared, he would not be the powerhouse he is today, if Michael Mahendere had listened to people telling him music is not for the faint hearted he would not be the artist he is today. If all the Doctorate, Masters and Undergraduate degree holders had feared, would they have graduated?

Psalm 46:1–3 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling”

Challenge yourself today. You are only limited by you.

I pray that you have been challenged to break the cycle of fear. It is worse than being in prison. Don’t let another day pass you before you make your dream a reality.

Luke 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

I love you dearly
